I created a module in the project (with the base HelloWorld-Activity), I wanted to add a blank of buttons and other elements, but a Custom View- ... CoordinatorLayout was created and no elements could be dragged onto it. I understand that there can be 1 element in it and Scroll View and it is impossible to add more. The problem was decided by the creation of a new project in which Relative Layout was created and it was possible to add elements. The question is how to specify this parameter and what determines the creation of Layouts?

    1. Forget about the existence of a graphical way of creating markup. In order to understand it so that it can be used in situations more difficult than putting text in the middle of the screen, you have to become a cool professional in drawing up markup in xml

    2. You can add a lot of View to CoordinatorLayout. They were not added to you because of the glitch graphic editor, which is not good at dealing with new widgets.

    Total:

Create markup only through xml and do not use graphic tools.

    • Hello, thank you very much for the advice. I am just learning this area, in the lesson for training there was a small task, to play with this editor, so I dig deeper, well, I decided to find out what the problem is. It means a small ide bug .. are there sensible sources for learning xml?
    • @Iga, these lessons quickly become obsolete and in vain they advise the graphic editor to use ... Yes, at first it can be clearer, easier and faster, but, as I said, everything is so bad that it’s better not to touch it at all. And the lessons on the xml markup ... Well, all the same, only without a graphic editor) - YuriySPb
    • they do not recommend. this was a lesson with the familiarization of the interface, to understand what layout is, etc. (so as not to throw people who are not well-versed in xml like me under the tank)) - Iga
