At work, it was necessary to organize load balancing on two servers using dns. The concept is completely transparent and understandable, but it is not clear how to do it from a technical point of view - as far as I understand, there can be only one A-record, and the average registrar does not just add the second.

There is no time to read the specs at the moment, so I ask you to explain on your fingers what exactly I should do through the registrar.

Try creating two A-records for the same name. - user194374
  • A record can be any number. Actually, you need to create a second one with a different ip. If the registrar interface does not allow you to do this, check with them in technical support or go to another registrar or raise the DNS in your office - Mike
  • @kff the current registrar does not provide opportunities, which is why I am useful to check my knowledge. Now we consider cloudflare as a solution. - etki
  • @Mike, I would write in the format of an answer, I would accept - etki

A record can be any number. For load balancing it is necessary to add additional records with different IP addresses. If the recorder interface does not allow adding several records, check with the tech support whether this is really so. If it does not, change the registrar or move the DNS server to another location (DNS support does not have to be at the facilities of the registrar itself).
