Hello! There is a site written in ror (rails - version does not show). For searching the site uses sphinx, its latest logs:

Watchdog finishes also. Good bye!

He fell really so long ago, I tried to locally raise the site to delve into it all, but he is not going to stupidly, there are a lot of dependencies, some of them are deprecated, in short, full hell.

From the logs, I understand that he just turned off, but how to start it now?

In general, this problem has already arisen, I decided to fix it myself, through SSH I tried to run sphinx, as a result, the site tightly laid down what was not clear. The developers then helped raise it, but in general they were already a bit angry, because they were often asked to “tie” something.

Some kind of fragile site, I’m even afraid to do a reboot in the hope of raising the search, suddenly I won’t get up, can I somehow search for the search without touching the site? In / etc / default / sphinxsearch START = yes stands.

  • The first topic found is advising to clean the sphinx binlogs. Whether this works is unknown. I don’t think that we, on our part, will be able to do something else, your code, and you certainly don’t have the right to publish it. - D-side
  • I would understand what to do after clearing the logs, because the sphinx just will not start. And I think there should be access, because I have root rights. - Vasily
  • There is no information at all in the question that allows to give an answer to this. - D-side
  • And what information could help? - Vasily
  • Hard to say. There is some abstract server on some abstract OS, on which some abstract application is running from some abstract components connected in some abstract way. One of these abstract components turned off, and you wondered how to turn it on. - D-side
