Which entities can include the expression Web 2.0 and by what criterion? Whether there is a standard (RFC), or other generally accepted methodologies by which you can determine whether you belong to Web 2.0 . Is it enough for a web application to be a single page (SPA) to be called Web 2.0 ?

There is no standard as such. The key factors that determine whether an application belongs to Web 2.0 are its design, its usability, and the use of modern technologies in its development.

This is a rather vague concept, which not everyone acknowledges.

    • Five years ago, it was believed that Web2.0 is when users fill content themselves. Well, like here for example. - Vladimir Gamalyan

Everyone understands their own way. And based on the assessment of these subjective "understandings", the application to Web 2.0 can already be attributed (or not). - Ghoul

As it seems to me, Web 2.0 often refers to a web application that currently uses all the features of modern web technologies:

    • the ability to work with the site in offline mode
    • opportunity to use the site for people with disabilities
    • correct display on any device
    • today you can already safely add the technology of volumetric panoramas - VR

    • That is, sites that were considered web 2.0 a decade ago will not be such today? - andreymal
    • @andreymal There is no clear definition of what web 2.0 is and what is not. In the period of rapid development of web technologies, the term was invented, but now it is not relevant. I tried to convey the essence that they usually understand by it. - spectre_it
