Hello, I needed Apache HttpClient. I downloaded from the office. site latest version of binary. At first I tried to add to the global libraries the archive itself, then only the lib folder from it. In the first case, the library is not added at all, in the second it is added, but there is such a problem. The HttpClient class HttpClient is abstract. Either I don’t understand something, or I’m doing something wrong, because there is no such example for lessons. Tell me, please, what should I do or which version to download (now 4.5.2), so that HttpClient shouldn’t have to write from scratch, or should anyone write it from 0?

  • And you can show or give a link to the code from this lesson, where an object of this class is created. - Riĥard Brugekĥaim

That documentation is godlessly outdated. Here is the instruction that you need.

  • Thanks, very helpful, but still not working. Used this code , more precisely from the first paragraph. Now CloseableHttpClient is abstract - kBro
  • one
So there is no need to create the object yourself. It is generated by the code HttpClients.createDefault (); - Riĥard Brugekĥaim
