There are several types of STM32 / STM8 microcontrollers:

  • low density devices
  • medium density devices
  • high density devices

Of course, there are no problems with the translation, but it is not entirely clear to me what density I am talking about. Is it the density of the periphery (the higher, the more different) or is it the density of the memory in the device, and maybe it's something else? Who can help?

  • As far as I know, they divide by the amount of flash memory. - Vladimir Gamalyan
  • @ Ilya, it is desirable to at least give a link to the received correct answer . Even better is the translation, since ru.stackoverflow exists and the question is asked here. - imbearr
  • @imbearr, thought about it, but there was no time to transfer the answer here. I'll do it now. - Ilya A

For the answer to the question, thank you so much @duskwuff. I translate:

This is just an arbitrary name, in order to distinguish between different lines MK from the same series. All MK in the line will have the same set of peripherals and characteristics. The differences will be only in the RAM, Flash, and the way of packaging (possibly meaning package). In some series, there are also the types "value line" and "connectivity line". They too should be considered as separate rulers of MK.

  • I read this answer inattentively yesterday. This is not exactly the same set of peripherals and the characteristics of the high-density MK range will have the broadest set of peripherals, and it will decrease for the medium and low lines, there will also be differences in the characteristics. - imbearr
  • The same set of peripherals and characteristics, in one series and in one line, is indeed true. I am inattentive. - imbearr pm
