Hello,

Due to the incorrect setting of parameters in "languages and regional standards", the Cyrillic alphabet in the txt files was displayed as "hieroglyphs". By changing the parameters, I was able to return all files to the normal state, except for one (with which I worked and with which I experimented most, trying to return to the original form): it now has question marks instead of "hieroglyphs".

Tell me, please, is it possible to do something with it, or not? Thanks in advance!

If at some point you saved it in ANSI, then - hello, there is nothing to restore. - Igor

Try it:

Click Файл-Сохранить как below. You will see an encoding selection to decode your text back to Cyrillic — save it in UTF-8 format.

There is another way: for this you need the program Notepad ++. Above, in the panel, there is a menu for selecting an encoding, more details can be found at this link: mojwp.ru/faq/utf-8-bez-bom - LychmanIT
  • Unfortunately, this did not help either. Thanks for the willingness to help! - Elizaveta Levina
  • It is time for you to understand that there is simply nothing to restore there - what was written to you in the commentary on the question. For the future: experiment was either on a separate file, or after creating a backup. - AK
