When you run the free utility in Ubuntu 16.04, information about the use of RAM and swap is displayed. As far as I understand, swap is allocated as much as the pre-installed RAM. Are there ways to increase the swap? Or is there no such need due to an independent increase in swap with a lack of free space?
- 2As far as I understand, swap is allocated as much as the pre-installed RAM. - no, a separate distribution can do this, but I wouldn't make it as a rule. Are there ways to increase the swap? - yes, generate files and / or partitions on the disk for this case and connect via swapon (/ etc / fstab for permanent effect). Or is there no such need due to an independent increase in swap with a lack of free space? - I'm afraid there is no such thing, at least by default. - etki
