Look carefully at the documentation or connection setup - counters support:
- In contact with
- Classmates
- My world
- Google+
when using the rest they are not used.
If you turn on the “counters” view on the code generation page for the connection, then many are hidden, and those on your site do not support those features.
You can for example use 2 blocks nearby.
