It is known (for example, from the Google documentation) that the first thing that a search engine looks at is the uniqueness of the content, and if the information is on other sites, the site can be seriously understated.

There was such a situation that I wanted the same article to be on two of my sites at once. It is needed on both sites, and it is also undesirable to redirect users to another site, since they may not return to the first one.

Question: how to minimize traffic loss due to duplicate content?

  • Probably both sites will take this article from the same database, but also have their own databases.
  • Of course, in addition to this article, both sites will have their own unique content.
  • I don’t know if this will affect something, but both sites will probably be on the same hosting.

You can use the blockquote element and create markup with structured data for a link like a copyrightHolder (for Organization, Persona, Creative work, and so on).
