    It looks like Spring Boot does not read your config in XML format. You can try the following:

    • connect XML config using @ImportResourse
    • declare your bin programmatically, in the DemoApplication class:

    Example:

     @Bean(name = "strQ") public MyStr getMyStr() { MyStr str = new MyStr(); str.setStr("Mess"); return str; }

      The reason is that Spring Boot works a little differently. By the way, you can remove the <context:component-scan base-package="com.example"/> because you already have a @ComponentScan(value = "com.example") that does the same thing. - Slava Semushin
