Hello)

I have been using linux (Ubuntu) for a long time linux (Ubuntu) , often on the forums I have seen that many people fall asleep at a laptop and cannot go to sleep! I did not have this until recently, but now, when I close the lid, it just falls asleep and when I press the spacebar (or any other key) it just freezes with a black screen!

I tried on several laptops:

  • Acer aspire v3-571g
  • Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 i5 4200M

The problems are the same!

Put the driver on Nvidia - the computer turns on / off without any problems, but it does not come out of sleep!

I tried several distros:

  1. Ubuntu 16.04
  2. Ubuntu 14.04
  3. Xbuntu 16.04
  4. Kubuntu 16.04
  5. Ubuntu Gnome 16.04

Everything is working fine, but nowhere does it come from sleep!

What could be the problem ?? How can this be solved?

Perhaps there is linux where there are no such problems?

  • And do you mean by "sleep" a "low power mode, but not a complete power outage" or "write status to disk and completely power off"? - Roman
  • @ MAN69K added them to the question - Maybe_V
  • I join the question. When I go to sleep, the screen starts flashing hysterically and the hard drive makes strange sounds, and then it has to reboot. Also tried on various distributions, tried to increase the paging file, nothing helps. Apparently some drivers are incompatible. - Beast Winterwolf
