There is a partition with the file system EXT4. Windows has a driver installed that allows files to work on Linux partitions. There is a colon in the name of one of the files.

How to copy this file in Windows'e on NTFS-partition?
EXT4 partition is connected in readonly mode.

You can try through the console: copy <originalName> <newValidNtfsName>, or xcopy, it seems to be smarter. If that doesn't seem to help, unfortunately there’s nothing to check - rdorn
  • @rdorn, copy did not work, xcopy too. Regardless of the use of \\?\ . - Qwertiy

Used the program to recover deleted files Recuva .

At the same time in the settings set:

  • Search for undeleted files so that all existing files are listed.
  • Disconnected deep analysis, because I know that the file is not deleted and there is no point in wasting time analyzing the remote.
  • Disabled restoring the folder structure to copy just one marked file without creating the entire chain of directories in which it lies.

The display of results made in the form of a tree so that you can easily find the desired file in the directory structure. There it is already displayed with underscores instead of colons. And since the file was a picture, there is also a preview of it on the right.

It remains only to put a flag on it and "restore" :)

  • It seems to be the result of the work of the gnome screenshots. In the latest versions of Gnome, by default, the names no longer contain colons (which is a pity) - mymedia
  • @mymedia, I don’t know which versions you have are the last, but a month ago she refused to save the file to fat32 - it seems because of the colon. - Qwertiy
