I create a Java application in which a personal account with notifications should be implemented. Specifically: there is an employee and a boss. The employee presses the “Reconcile with the boss” button, after which the boss receives a message in his personal office asking him to agree or reject. The boss presses the desired button, after which the employee receives a notification about the actions of the boss. Something like a simplified internal mail. There is an option to store the entire history of actions in the database (there should not be many of them), and every time the user logs in, unload it from there, analyze what is read, what is not, etc., but perhaps there is a more simple or suitable option? Any special technology or library. Has anyone come across this?
- Faced with similar tasks. If there is confidence that the functionality will be simple and you will not have to develop it into something more in the future, then make it simple and clumsy, store everything in the database, notifications are usually sent by mail. And to ensure a full-fledged complex workflow, it is better to find a ready-made solution ... - bobzer
- What do you mean by ready-made solutions? What can they be based on? Which way to dig?)) - Sofya Kareva
- By ready-made solutions, I meant Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS). The search engine will give a lot of information on them. For example, Alfresco Community Edition is a free solution. I want to draw attention to the fact that the introduction of ready-made solutions is usually not a programming task, but an implementation, so be prepared for the fact that you have to deal with non-core tasks. - bobzer
