Good day!

On one volume of the hard disk (160 GB), the cluster began to crumble, I decided to copy it to another hdd, 1.5 TB in size (of which 168 GB are free). Used for this program Ontrack EasyRecovery. But either I didn’t press it or I misunderstood the meaning of what I did, my 1.5 terabyte disk turned into 160 GB. The question is how to return the data that was before copying to 1.5 TB disk?

When restoring partitions and files on a 1.5 TB disk, it shows files deleted from a 160 GB disk, so simple file recovery does not help.

  • Return whom? If on windows, then in the administration / disk management section. There you can add another section. And if you need to restore the old partition table, then through Acronis - avparfiriev
  • I suspect that the first 160 GB were copied one on one to a new disk (that is, by sector copying). In this case, the above problem will be observed. - KoVadim
  • Please tell me how to solve this problem, photos and videos were stored on the disk for the last 15 years ... tried to restore the volume, but cannot find the old volume, also tried data recovery - shows deleted data from a 160 GB disk, i.e. as if 1.5 TB did not exist ... - kentaskis

I am afraid that the data from 1.5TB disk can not be restored by "Home" means, since You erased the partition table and overwritten the old markup data. The only option, as I see it, is to contact a specialized data recovery organization.

  • The fact that the table is rubbed is not scary. And that the data overwritten - not a fact. It is necessary to look through the special software. Each case is unique. - don Rumata
