Alas, my working machine is so weak that the project in PHP Storm already stupidly hangs and then crashes. Visual Studio Code is suitable for work, but this lack of variables kills all the advantages of the editor.

In settings.json you need to add:

    "editor.wordSeparators": "`~!@#%^&*()-=+[{]}\\|;:'\",.<>/?"

    Instead of the original line:

     "editor.wordSeparators": "`~!@#$%^&*()-=+[{]}\\|;:'\",.<>/?",

How to force Visual Studio Code to allocate PHP variables with “$”?

VSC can do it out of the box. In any case, this:

       Версия 1.6.1 Фиксация 9e4e44c19e393803e2b05fe2323cf4ed7e36880e Дата 2016-10-13T15:43:46.054Z Оболочка 1.3.7 Обработчик 52.0.2743.82 Node 6.5.0

Maybe you just have such a theme exposed, which the $ symbol color separately. For example, here is Solarized Light:

      But Light +:

Just pick a topic that suits you, in the local marketplace there are so many of them that you get tired of choosing.
