Good day. Before creating a question, I used a search. I did not find this.

Advise the current book on the design and development of linux kernel. SO Love was already advised on SO, but his book on the core describes the 2.6 version. Is there a similar version of 4.8 or not less relevant, released within a year.

  • This is a good reason to think about writing this book yourself. :) - Vlad from Moscow

I'm afraid the only actual book on the kernel is the source of the kernel - Mike
  • @Vlad from Moscow, are you a good joke of course, but seriously? - R. Pavlov

@ R.Pavlov In every joke there is a grain of truth. The best way to study a subject is to write a book about a subject. :) - Vlad from Moscow

@alexanderbarakin, there is a question about the documentation. And all the books in that answer are old. - R. Pavlov

  • Thanks for the link, the quality is good, but is it enough or will you have to read something else? Please give more useful links, if any. I, in turn, give a link to the kernel file browser - R. Pavlov
  • Well that means "is this enough" - depending on what level you want to know the core and why you need it. I’ll add more links here, if I remember, but in general, there is more work with subsystems, to replace one another and see how it works, with hypervisors, etc. - strangeqargo
  • (passing by, selectel requires mail, but nieploho at first glance about the core debag ) selectel.ru/promo/… - strangeqargo
