All the good time. I'm trying to find solutions for distributing files to office employees who need remote access. I kind of found a great solution: ownCloud, but when I create an external resource in the settings, I specify a smb resource, it simply does not connect.

At first, the problem was that php-smbclient wasn't running. Put, now in the logs absolute silence. Enabled debugging in samba on the server. ownCloud connects, authenticates with the specified user and nothing else.

Maybe someone works such a bunch? What could be the problem?

  • my owncloud works for me, and I used to use samba before. Her task performed. What could be? and anything, it is possible that it works, you just have not understood it yet :) - KoVadim
  • Resource on samba or windows? I mean, if these two Linux servers can be easier and more reliable to configure nfs? - Slipeer
  • And the second point: the user under which you are mounting - do you have access to smb resource? - Slipeer
  • Resource on Windows. But I tried to raise it already on samba. At the same time I wrote a script for the test that uses php-libsmbclient and it connects perfectly to the server. But ownCloud does not want. I try to mount from the admin domain already, all to no purpose. - Sanches
  • KoVadim and you can find out on which version everything works for you? I also connected users from AD (by ldap) and I want network resources to be mounted under the account of the person who is logged into ownCloud. - Sanches

Installed owncloud version 8, everything works. Understood.

In the line shared resource, it was necessary to register just a slash (/) Plus in the finished distribution from the site which under Ubuntu php-libsmbclient is not worth it and is placed only from the sources.

Now everything works.
