I have a class StringBufferInputStream for some reason crossed out in the development environment, as I understand it with a hint that it is outdated, and it is dangerous to use it.

Question: is it my glitch, or is it really? If so, what is the alternative? Something I have not found anywhere that it is dangerous can anyone know?

  • Look at a couple of the first links from the issuance of any search engine for the class name and the word deprecated - there will be all the information you are interested in. - post_zeew
  • depreceted , if anyone does not know, it is устаревший . They invented something new that was much better, but it was declared obsolete and maybe someday they will get rid of it altogether. Often in javadoc there is a recommendation what to use instead of the outdated method / class, etc. - Sergey

Usually this means that a class or method is marked as Depreacted. And the reason should be described in the relevant documentation. What should be replaced with strikethrough is often written directly in warnings (with warning turned on).
