    The idea is this:

    .container{ display:flex; flex-direction:row; } .container-2-3{ display:flex; flex-direction:column; } 

    For a common container, the flex-to-row display style is set, and for the middle container containing the second and third blocks, the flex-to-column display style is set. Without additional wrapper for the second and third blocks, in my opinion, it will not work: (
