Several people have access to the table, each of them needs specific data and to make it easier to work, each of them uses filters for each column. Someone needs data1 and, accordingly, he reduces the table for himself into the required dimensions with the necessary data. Another person requires data2 and, respectively, the same thing, gets an individual table (filtered) to work with the necessary data. But the problem is that if 1 person filters the table, then all other people who have access to it will have a table that looks like the first one. Although they need completely different data.

Is it possible to make everyone able to filter the data and this is not displayed by other users. Also in the table constantly enter data. Consider this.

I am waiting for specific suggestions on how to set up or ways to organize the work of the office.

Use name filters to solve the problem.

To create a name filter, use the Data / Filters / Create New Filter function in the main menu, or use the filter icon drop-down menu in the toolbar. The fields around the workspace will become dark gray, and an additional name filter panel will appear on top, in which you need to assign a name to the filter and set the working range. In this mode, you can filter the data as you like - those working in the table will not see these changes at the same time as you, unless they activate the same filtering mode. Range settings and data filtering in the mode of the nominal filter are saved automatically.

Thus, you can create a personal name filter for each user, one or several, with different settings.

  • I have attached a link to the corresponding section of the official Google Spreadsheets help - much more detailed? Create any number of named filters for any ranges, and let people work calmly, each under their own filter - you can manipulate column filters as you like, the rest will not see it. I have a dozen people working simultaneously in the same table, and no one interferes with each other. - Anoubis
