Good evening! And again, with my mysterious novice investigations. I beg your pardon if they annoy anyone and seem useless, but there is no one to turn to for professional advice.

Situation. On two pages (maybe more, but at a random, random viewing, nowhere else was this problem found), the site’s basement stopped occupying 100% of its width and pressed against the bottom edge of the page and stepped up to the content itself.

Logically, this should not be the same? The site on Bitrix and on all pages the pattern and styles for the footer are the same. After examining the code using the browser tool, Opera noticed that it shows the main style referenced by the template (main.css), and below is another style for the footer. It is such a curve, as it looks now on the page. Refers to a certain file template 89 ... 855 in the bitrix -> cache folder.

There are a large number of these template files in this folder. And a number of questions arose.

What is the reason why on this page did the footer access this style file? Is it possible to delete this file without negative consequences for the site? Is it possible to clear the cache folder at all and will it affect the increase in the speed of the site loading? On the last question I did not find full reliable information.

Thank you in advance

The cache folder can be safely cleaned. Bitrix will start to generate cache files in it again, so it is useless.

Style files fall into this folder because CSS combining and / or compression is enabled in the settings of the main module. You can turn it off, then the CSS will be taken directly from the site templates / components.

    • Those. cleaning this folder will not affect the speed of the site? And if I delete that particular style file, the page will again refer to main.css? - Alla
    • It will affect, because Bitrix will create these files again. But if you turn off the union and compression of CSS, it will not affect. Similarly, the page will refer to the main main.css only if the merging and compression of the CSS is disabled in the settings of the main module. - Sergey Kovalev
    • Will it slow down or speed up the site? And where exactly is this setting for combining and compressing CSS? And what tangible practical benefits does this setting have? - Alla
