Question:

I flipped through the github.com agreements, but didn’t understand if I could post non-IT projects on this resource?

Or I was inattentive, or one of the two. But the maximum that I managed to find on the topic of content is:

A.8. Account Terms

You can not use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose. Violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright or trademark laws).

And if I want to post the current development, not related to IT? Suppose the development of a monograph on tensor calculus, root loci for the analysis of the ACS, ... but at least robbing cows?

Please give a link to the "regulatory document" that regulates the permissible topic of the content of the project being created on github'е .

This is about the illegal or unauthorized purpose . Fog.

  • Notice the violate any laws in your jurisdiction ? For example, if you teach ... (read the Criminal Code and insert yourself) activities, then you will be covered. - avp
  • brrrr "break" or "train" ??? my foreign language is simply Japanese, and English is a dictionary ( - Majestio
  • As far as I remember, learning (that is, providing comprehensive information) to some things is a violation of the Criminal Code. (just don't ask me to rummage through it). - avp
  • If I had a little "linguistic" help, a stupid translation into English, I would be able to clarify this with the administration of the overvlova. Who is ready and able? Plis, plis) - Majestio
  • And what exactly needs to be translated into English ? - avp

1 answer 1

On github, in addition to the code, post blogs and books .

There is no limit to the meaning of the content that you post. Post what you want.

As for the regulatory document, when registering with the service, you must agree with only one document. This is Github Terms Of Service . There are some clarifications on what should not be posted:

G. General Conditions

Unsolicited email, SMSs, or "spam" messages.

This is a destructive nature.

However, github reserves the right to close your account for any reason:

D. Cancellation and Termination

If you’re a little bit harsh, you’ll have to do it.

Therefore, it does not matter whether there is a regulatory document that you are looking for or not (and most likely it does not exist, except for the Terms Of Service itself), your account can be closed at any time for any reason.

However, the worst thing that can happen to your account on Github is that it will be permanently deleted.

Therefore:

  1. Post what you want.
  2. Make backups (this is also useful for IT projects :)

And everything will be fine.
