Good afternoon, I recently installed a new Ubuntu (I used Windows before) The question arose which development environment to choose? Please immediately give a link to download. Requirements for the environment to meet all C ++ standards (The assembled project could be compiled into gcc);

First I recommend learning how to compile on the command line, learn the main options and the compiler flags (gcc, of course). But then go look for the IDE, because you still usually have to prescribe additional options manually, but on the simplest options you will not go far. Then, you did not write what language level you are.
To write to start better in notebooks. Standard gedit - I really respect, for starters the most. Even better is Kate. Vim, Emacs are very powerful things, but you need to deal with them long and hard.
In addition, it is highly recommended to deal with additional development tools: make, dbg, profilers, etc. And here the command line is basic. Yes, and a notebook.
- Frankly, I prefer not gedit, but medit - this is, in every sense, my favorite editor after notepad ++ (but under Windows) :) - Zowie

I, for example, use CodeLite. Great stuff.
apt-cache search codelite
And install all the packages. There they seem to crawl out 2.
- Give a link to this Wednesday under Ubuntu - FlagShtok
- What is the link? All of this comes from repositories, one line on the command line or using Synaptic. I recommend first to get acquainted with the work in Linux, it is quite different from the work in Windows. - skegg
- in ubunt (as well as in other linux), you usually do not need to go to some sites, squeeze installers and quack afterwards. For this there is a package manager. To install the codelite, just open the console and type
sudo apt-get install codeliteand press enter (then you will need to enter your password). - KoVadim
The main thing is to master (as it should) make.

- The rest have already been listed, but they didn’t focus on one of the main development tools. And sh (bash) and many Unix commands. - avp
