Apache does not write error.log after cleaning in PHPStorm 2016.3.2. If I clear echo '' > error.log in the terminal echo '' > error.log , then it normally writes further. Rights do not change after cleaning a file in PHPStorm. I restart Apache, I write errors before the first saving of the log file in PHPStorm. And 777 rights set - to no avail. What could it be? OS Ubuntu 16.04

  • What exactly does “clean in the terminal” and “clear the file in phpstorm” mean? Where is this file located? How is it mentioned in the apache configuration? on whose behalf does apache serve your site? who owns the directory in which the file is located? What are the rights of the owner, group and all others to this directory? Please add a question with all this information by clicking edit . - aleksandr barakin

Do not save this file in PHPStorm. Apparently, at this moment the corresponding descriptor at the Apache is closed. - etki
  • In PHPStorm - ctrl + a, backspace, ctrl + s. Apache from www-data, the file is located next to the project folder. Server on VirtualBox. The rights to the log directory drwxrwx--- 1 root vboxsf 4096 Дек 29 14:33 logs/ www-data and the user is in the vboxsf group - Anton
  • Etki, after saving the log in PHPStorm - another apache process is started. Well then, I'll be clearing out of the terminal for now - Anton
