Hello!

Happy New Year, everyone! I ask for help on this issue: I installed the Egeya blog engine for DigitalOcean according to the instructions from this blog “ How to get Egeya on DigitalOcean ”, but I encountered such a problem that the engine does not send letters when publishing comments from users on the blog, then I remembered that such a simple thing as sendmail can be responsible for the transport of letters, installed it, but did not configure anything. I left a test comment and received a letter in my Google Apps box, but when I decided to reply to this comment, I could not send anything to Mail.ru sendmail. I looked in the mail.log file on the path /var/log , and there I saw the following:

As I understand, the letter passed to the pisma.ws domain, but on the Mail.ru side, the letter did not pass the verification and was rejected by their server.

I have little knowledge in these matters, so maybe someone from the experts in this field will be able to advise me some solution for my problem, or maybe in the domain settings for my blog you can add some DNS records so that the letters do not got into spam and were not rejected by mail servers.

  • A little googling, I managed to find such a note “ Memo on mail settings ”. A person uses the Egeya engine, but, unfortunately, it is not clear to me how to do everything that he describes in his material. Maybe someone can tell? - Sergey
  • I wouldn't call sendmail a simple thing. pisma.ws - this is your domain? - Mikhail Vaysman
  • @MikhailVaysman, yes, the domain belongs to me. Blog on another domain - Sergey
  • What is the return address of the letters that you send from the server? - Mikhail Vaysman pm
  • @MikhailVaysman, the Egeya engine inserts blog@inotes.pp.ua into the "From" field, but Mail.ru, and other mail servers, simply lack some additional settings on my part for it to work correctly. - Sergey
