How to find the program installed in the system. I know that programs are installed by default in / usr. But if there is a case when the program was installed in a non-standard way and they forgot that it is in the system, then how can I find it, in one command? "I hope I clearly expressed my thought" :)

There is the which command, it helps to find the program if it is in one of the directories listed in the $PATH variable:

 which ls >/bin/ls 

And so, of course, plus locate and find , see the comment by alexander barakin.
