There is an Oracle 10 DB.

Select name from v$database returns NAME1 . How to change name to NAME2 ?

  • Can you explain in more detail what you want to change? Display value? or result? - Legionary

    It's easier, in my opinion, to create a new image and upload the data with a dump. If you need it, use the nid utility. - 0xdb

Used the NID utility.

Connect to DB:

 >shutdown immediate; >startup mount;

Next, run in the nid console from the standard Oracle distribution, in the bin directory. Connect with an account with SYSDBA privilege

 >nid TARGET=SYS as SYSDBA DBNAME=new_database_name
