Good day, friends. I have been working with Wordpress for a long time, but recently I wanted to try something new, I have stopped at MODX for now. I understand everything in this system, but one thing is unclear - why templates are stored in the database o_0 Somehow it is not serious or something ...

Friends, tell me, is it possible to create templates in files, folders, as in other CMS? I work in PhpStorm, but templates for MODX need to be created only from the site admin panel, if you understand correctly? It’s not for me to judge how effective this approach is, but it’s hard to believe that it’s not possible to create templates more efficiently and conveniently in such a popular engine. Help to understand this question.

Perfectly can be stored in files. The structure of the project can create absolutely any. For example, when creating a template in the admin panel, select the "Static" checkbox, then select the file in which the template is stored. Everything, now you can work with the file directly, without logging in to the admin area.

The same can be applied to chunks and snippets.
