Good day!

I started learning JavaFX, and in no way can I find a detailed full description of the panels.

I read this article on Habré, but did not understand which panel is ... the likeness of setLayout(null) from Swing. Also, there is not described the distinction of Group, Region and Control, as well as their heirs.

Please give a detailed description.

ps Also, the picture says that these are elements of JavaFX 2.0. If there are any new panels in JavaFX 8, then tell us about them, please.

  • I'm afraid they won't tell you. This is not a forum, it is a resource where certain problems are solved - Andrew Bystrov
  • @AndrewBystrov, perhaps, but it’s worth a try: D Also, if they answer, it will speed up the search for information for beginners. Some advantages, as for me -.- - TrueASL
  • A detailed description requires a whole lecture or a series of articles. For new elements that appear and between minor builds, we look at api layouts , controls . I don't know swing , I can't say anything about setLayout(null) - Andrey M
  • I read about setLayout(null) : it seems that for this you can use Pane or AnchorPane as a root element. And so the experiments in SceneBuilder will make it clear what and how it works - Andrey M
