I am writing a thesis. When defending a thesis, a presentation is also needed. To the requirements of this presentation, I see that the presentation should include a description of a "conceptual data domain model" .

My thesis is devoted to pattern recognition . Namely handwriting recognition. There is a program that is trained to recognize handwritten letters. At the entrance is a picture with letters and the algorithm performs recognition. Different algorithms are used. But what should I include in the description of the conceptual data model of the subject area in my case? I do not quite understand what this concept means. What essentially need to be described?

  • in any task there is data, they are also usually interconnected - you will agree, it would be a strange task for which it is not so - do you know at least one such? :-) - Eugene Bartosh

A conceptual data domain model is a description of the entities and the relationships between them. Since the model is conceptual , it is not necessary to cite all the attributes of entities that are sufficiently key. You can read more here: Model entity-relationship

From your description it is immediately obvious that you will have the entities "picture", "letter", "text". In the sense, the emergence of entities "word", "sentence" is possible ...
