Good day to all.

There is a server with the IP address 111.222.333.444

There is a domain example.com

Domain delegated to Yandex. "Yandex Mail for Domain" works. Now you need to link the domain with the server. As I understand, now DNS records need to be edited on the Yandex side. Create an A-record: @ A 111.222.333.444

The domain example.com opens. I can not say whether it immediately began to open.

With subdomains all the more difficult. I sub1.example.com entry for the sub1.example.com domain: sub1 A 111.222.333.444 - it seems that sub1.example.com immediately began to open

Adding sub2 A 111.222.333.444 . Some time has passed, but sub2.example.com never opens.

Tried to delete both entries for sub1 and sub2. sub1 continues to open. As far as I understand, after changing / adding records, you need to wait for a while, although I read somewhere that updating records in Yandex happens instantly.

Due to the ambiguity with the delay, I cannot be sure of my actions, since it is unclear whether the changes took effect or not.

Another question is, is it possible to add one entry for all subdomains?

Thanks for the help.

  • DNS can slow down with changes and that's fine. Depending on the TTL in the zone and other factors, the update may take at least a day. I don’t know how in the Yandex management interface, but in the bind configs you can specify * A 111.222.333.444 and these will be all subdomains not separately - Mike
  • Thank. Already tried to use * but it did not work. I'll try this time to wait a little longer. - Sergey Krivochenko February
