There is another feature. So it works in the Yandex browser. In Firefox , Google Chrome , Microsoft Edge and the mobile Yandex browser /public_html under the footer is not displayed, but an indent from the lower border of the screen is displayed, that is, the footer is detached from it.

Is it /public_html to /public_html and how can this be fixed?

PS More browsers show that I do not have a secure connection. Maybe it matters?

The answer is found and it is ridiculously elementary. Just in the file footer.php, I somehow had the line / public_html after the closing tag </html> . I deleted this line in the editor and everything fell into place.
