Hello. I use the datables plugin for table layout. The plugin API has the ColReorder property, which includes the ability to change the order of the columns. There is also a colReorder.order () method, which can change the order of columns according to predetermined indices in the array on click:

$('#reverse').click( function (e) { table.colReorder.order( [ 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0 ] ); });

The task is to make it possible to change the order of the columns on the "forward" / "back" buttons, i.e. on click it is necessary to somehow interchange these indices in the array. Please tell me how it can be done.

 $(document).ready(function() { $('#example').DataTable({ colReorder: true, ordering: false, bFilter: false, bLengthChange: false, bInfo: false, bPaginate: false, autoWidth: false, fixedHeader: { header: true, footer: true } }); } );
 .btns-block { display: flex; justify-content: space-between; }

    So?

     var index = [0,1,2,3,4,5]; var table = $('#example').DataTable({ colReorder: true, ordering: false, bFilter: false, bLengthChange: false, bInfo: false, bPaginate: false, autoWidth: false, fixedHeader: { header: true, footer: true } }); $('.btn-next').click(function() { index.push(index.shift()); table.colReorder.order( index ); index = [0,1,2,3,4,5]; }); $('.btn-prev').click(function() { index.splice(0, 0, index.splice(index.length - 1, 1)[0]); table.colReorder.order( index ); index = [0,1,2,3,4,5]; });

    • Thanks for the answer. Not quite right now, only the first and last columns change places; you need to click on it, for example, to the right, the following happens: the Name column with the index [0] moves to the end of the array [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0] , press it again and takes the following form: [2, 3, 4, 5, 0, 1] and so on. - Igor
    • @ Igor Corrected the answer. - mix
    • I can not understand what the problem is? At the first click, everything happens according to the required scenario, the array is converted from [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5] to [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0] , but the next click leads to the form [3, 4, 5, 0, 1, 2] and after that everything breaks down ... - Igor

      @ Igor I understood why this happens)) After the button is pressed backward or forward, then index 0 assigned either Name or Position , that is, the index variable must be reset to its original state. I will now edit the answer again, it will now work as you want. - mix

    Hello!

    Take the initial array var order = [ 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ] .
    As I understand it, you need when pressing the next button so that the array becomes var order = [ 5, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 ] , etc.
    This can be done in the following way: when pressing the button, we delete the last element and add it to the beginning of the array.

     order.unshift(order.pop());

    Then you can use this array:

     table.colReorder.order( order );

    Well, for the back button you can do it by analogy (remove from the beginning of the array and add to the end).

    • Thank you for your reply, @qpeela. I apologize for the "blurring" of the task, it is necessary to click on the next move the first el-t of the array to its end, i.e. it will take the following form: [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 0] . In general, I heard your thought, the situation does not change the situation, thank you) - Igor
