Actually, the question. And can this be done via ftp?

via FTP this can be done, but if the structure is large and the connection is slow, then it will take a lot of time. All recursive directories and files should be checked and collected. - Dmitry Nail
  • I understand that this is not what FileZilla needs to do? - Tarasovych

Yes, if purely via FTP, you will have to write a program in some language. If on the server you have everything in PHP, for example, it is easier to write a PHP script that will quickly calculate all this on the server. Throw it on the server via FTP and run it. - Dmitry Gvozd

Yes, why not ... I would consider md5 once in the interval and compare them with those that are locally (in a safe place) ... Total Commander md5 counts out of the box, with the plug-in it works even with FTP, even with SFTP.

PS I still forget that there is a bias on programming, I am sure it is possible with a script, as it is more convenient for someone ...

  • That is, do you need to connect via ftp, read md5 files on the server and compare with local ones? - Tarasovych
  • I would solve the problem like this ... If there is no need to find out what data has ALREADY changed (i.e., you currently do not have an MD5 hash), then yes - the logic will be as follows: Connect via FTP // calculated MD5 // Copied MD5 into << another place> // In the required time interval, we connect to the server, for a new MD5 calculation and compare them with those available in <another place >>. - Jora_S
