How to change the color of the tab in Yandex Browser with the one that is formed by the site icon to an arbitrary?

On the official website of Yandex there is only information about widgets displayed in bookmarks: https://tech.yandex.ru/browser/tableau/doc/dg/concepts/create-widget-docpage/

It affects the color change tabs, but extremely unstable. After clearing the cache and reloading the page, the tab becomes the desired color, but when you open new, previously unopened pages in the browser, the title is still formed by the icon.

The widget manifest code itself:

{ "api_version": 4, "layout": { "logo": "/favicon.png", "color": "#fff" } }

I also found this code:

 <meta name="viewport" content="ya-title=#3B8DBD,ya-dock=#3B8DBD">

But there is no sense to him, he does not change anything.

  • @Qwertiy is the point, the network has a working code for chrome, ios, windows phone, but not for the Yandex browser. - Dmitry Maslennikov
  • Is the Khromovsky method not working? - vp_arth
  • @vp_arth nope, only the one that wrote above works when you plug it in via the <link rel = "yandex-tableau-widget" href = "/ manifest.json? 7" /> manifest but it is unstable - Dmitry Maslennikov
  • in short, the point is to remove the color of the tab that is formed by the icon on white (the icon itself is black, respectively, the browser translates it into white, and the tab itself turns black). the funny thing is that the tab with the Yandex website is not colored in any way, although according to their logic there should be red (the color of the logo). - Dmitry Maslennikov

The official response from the Yandex technical support service:

The color of the active tab is determined automatically by its widget. If the site has its own logo for the widget on the Scoreboard page, then the design of the tab will correspond to it.

How to make a widget, you can read here: https://tech.yandex.ru/browser/tableau/doc/dg/concepts/create-widget-docpage/

If the site has no widget, in this case the color of the tab will be taken from the site favicon.

PS From myself I will add that during the experiments it turned out that the background color in most cases is taken from the first filled upper right pixel of the icon and is made several tones darker. In some cases, the color is formed by other algorithms (in particular, for very light or very dark icons, as well as for images with a combination of different colors).

Unfortunately, in practice, Yandex. The browser does not work with the widget quite correctly, the new pages being opened are colored by the color of the site’s icons, and when manipulating the browser’s history (ajax, etc.), the color is taken from the “color” parameter (the color of the widget’s logo is not affects staining). Let's hope that in new versions of the browser everything will work correctly.
