Hello. Please tell me, on some sites I meet arbitrary tags. For example tag ymaps (Yandex maps) link . In this example, the map itself is the updatable canvas. wrapped in the ymaps tag. (the tag appears in the final DOM tree after working out the JS scripts as I understand it) What are the advantages of arbitrary tags? Do they behave like a regular block element (say a div)?

These are xml tags and they behave as developers need
.ymaps-2-1-48-map { position: relative; z-index: 0; display: block; ... Yandex is full of such tags noindex is the same, though it is already html tag
