Hi, stumbled upon this screen, and saw that the columns between the tab characters are highlighted on it. I have been looking for a long time how to make such a package or which package will help me achieve this, but I could not find anything. Please tell me how to do also?

highlight tabs

  • At CursorRuler can also pay attention. The package highlights only the column where the carriage is located, an example . Thank. - Sasha Chernykh

Add in the line settings

"draw_indent_guides": true, "indent_guide_options": ["draw_normal"]

You can also highlight the vertical line of the current block.

 "indent_guide_options": ["draw_normal", "draw_active"]

Highlight active line

A note about the highlighting of the vertical line of Sasha Chernykh: all vertical columns above and below the tabs that are in front of the first character of the line on which the carriage is located and the column on which the carriage is located are highlighted. Moreover, if the column above or below is limited by another code, then, accordingly, it is no longer highlighted above or below.

Highlight active line

  • 1) For the settings to take effect, the necessary condition is "draw_indent_guides": true, I guess you need to add. 2) Could you give a screenshot confirming that "indent_guide_options": ["draw_normal", "draw_active"] performs the function "highlight the current line"? Thank. - Sasha Chernykh
  • and here draw_indent_guides did not notice. Corrected. - Komdosh
  • Komdosh: try, if "indent_guide_options": ["draw_normal", "draw_active"] , put the caret on the next column, then the next: in general, in different places of your code. What will you have highlighted? Thank. - Sasha Chernykh
  • Well, the line of the current block is highlighted. Yes, the answer is probably not quite correctly expressed. - Komdosh
