Handling keystrokes using the keyDown function, which has an int parameter

public boolean keyDown(int keycode)

Pressing the A key on the keyboard, got the keycode 29, convert this number to char

 symbol = (char)keycode;

I get '\ u001D', as in the screenshot below

How to get the letter A (English) from keycode?
