I decided to upgrade to OS version 16 and found information on the Internet that it cannot be updated directly. That is, you first need to upgrade to 15.10 and only for that until 16.04. But I ran into a problem, I cannot update the OS to version 15.10. When I try to update, a message appears with the text "No new release found"

do-release-upgrade -d Checking for a new Ubuntu release No new release found
  • Do you have a repository containing 15.10 in the list of repositories? - Sergey
  • @Sergey What should he look like? - T1MOXA
  • What is the current release? - don Rumata
  • @ T1MOXA In order to see the list of connected repositories, you need to run the command cat /etc/apt/sources.list This is in Ubuntu. For other distributuivivov may be somewhat different. In any case, in order to switch to another distribution, you need to add the repository of this distribution to sources.list - Sergey

Solved this problem as follows:

sudo sed -i 's/vivid/wily/g' /etc/apt/sources.list Эта команда заменяет в репозиториях слово vivid на wily

And after that, I am quietly updating to the latest version.

PS Thank you for helping. @Sergio Lione, @Sergey

Probably (80% sure) you need to update the correct repository in sources.list ...
