After updating the service link, all classes used through the link are not available. Once 30 have already tried to update nothing will turn out. VS 2015 .NET 4.

Other projects in the solution perfectly update links to the service, besides. I spent a lot of time on solving this problem, did not find anything. Screen

How to update it to work?

  • and how did you create it before the update? I strongly suspect that they added a link to the service by manual generation of wsdl and xsd files, which could be provided not through the service, but somehow, for example, with an archive. The service can, but is not obliged to provide its metadata to outsiders. If this is your service, then check that there is a mex binding in its configuration to exchange meta-data. - rdorn

In the client application, the using directive was mistakenly added to a library with types that have already been obtained via the service reference. After attempting to update the service reference, the compiler gives a large number of errors.

Solution: remove the using directive to the library. And the update links to the service. The update was successful.
