According to the W3 documentation, the textarea tag does not have a value attribute. To stretch the contents of this tag along the length of the browser, you can use the following options:

  • rows attribute - check the change of this attribute values on the W3 Tryit Editor tool ;
  • set the styles width in% for this attribute, for example:

<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <style>textarea{width:100%}</style> <body> <textarea> At w3schools.com you will learn how to make a website. We offer free tutorials in all web development technologies. </textarea> </body> </html>
