I have several fragments between which I switch using the Navigation Drawer. In one of the fragments, I need to use the Collapsing Toolbar with a picture, the others have the standard Toolbar. This question was asked earlier, but I still did not quite understand. I used this method https://gist.github.com/groverankush/9d09fbba07879790d5395434fda1e2d4, but the style used for the toolbar is not specified here. Perhaps with this I have a hitch. I use the standard style

Transitions to fragments are carried out as in the above link, I think to insert this code does not make sense, because already at the entrance I get the following error

java.lang.IllegalStateException: This Activity is already an action bar. Do not request Window.FEATURE_SUPPORT_ACTION_BAR and set the windowActionBar to use.

If you put style NoActionBar, the error does not come out, but the toolbar no longer appears

If you set the Toolbar separately in the layout , then you need to put the NoActionBar theme to the activity .

Replace your AppThemes style AppThemes :

 <style name="AppThemes" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light"> <item name="colorPrimary">@color/colorPrimary</item> <item name="colorPrimaryDark">@color/colorPrimaryDark</item> <item name="colorAccent">@color/colorAccent</item> </style>

And you put this style on the entire application, i.e. in <application> i.e. So:

 android:theme="@style/AppThemes"

Next, add this style to styles.xml :

 <style name="AppThemes.NoActionBar"> <item name="windowActionBar">false</item> <item name="windowNoTitle">true</item> </style>

You already add this style to a separate activity to which you added the Toolbar to the layout

Add in the manifest to the activity where you added the Toolbar separately:

 android:theme="@style/AppThemes.NoActionBar"
