I'm trying to install Windows 7 from a flash drive. At the stage of the installation, the error “no optical drive drivers were found” crawls out, although the installer himself could boot from the flash drive. Different solutions did not help, I want to find the driver and close this problem. But the question is, what drivers should we look for and for what? For this particular flash drive (tried different), for USB 3.0 (although I put it in slot 2.0)? What kind of drivers really are not enough in this case, the distribution of Windows?

  • Another distribution did not try? I would put 8-ku, she herself will drag all the necessary drivers and the problem will be solved. - K.Mitnick
  • Do you mean she will pull them through the Internet? I have not tried another distribution kit yet, I thought the same thing everywhere. - wooden_coder
  • Yes, if you can not find from the standard in the kit, then it will pull up from the Internet without any problems. I came across something similar when installing a 7-ki on a rather ancient laptop, with an 8-koi all the rules passed, however as with the 10-koi. You can first try a different distribution to cut off this moment, and then in extreme cases try to put 8/10. - K.Mitnick
  • look at this my answer , starting with the part where about the installation images ms / winidows. - aleksandr barakin

Not a panacea at the expense of the slot. Right now, the 2nd and 3rd usb lie inside one chip and nothing will work on this chip without firewood. I solved the problem for myself simply by rolling the image over the network and collecting the image to fit my needs. But for a one-time operation, this is a clear overhead. - don Rumata
