Available: OpenWRT + Asterisk 13.9 + PJSIP and chan_dongle + Huawei E173 (11.126.15.00.209) in unlocked mode codecs ulaw alaw and gsm

The bottom line: For some reason, during a call to the mob. The phone’s voice is like a walkie-talkie, the connection is also interrupted for a couple of seconds What could be the problem? The sound is too strong in both directions. I tried to change the codecs - there are no results.

I had this in two cases: 1. There was not enough processor power on the Aster’s "load average" server (the disk subsystem also needs to be looked at) 2. There was not enough internet channel width on the aster (or poor quality with packet loss) - Vlad Vetrov
  • Thanks @VladVetrov for the answer. 1) At the moment, as a server, I use the tp-link tl-wr1043nd rev 4 router and I see. What percents are 750 MHz and RAM 64 MB Load average: 0.03 0.03 0.00 1/82 6938 - Yaroslav Mazurenko
  • I think it should not be so critical 2) Hmm for this purpose I use WIFI which has about 5 Mb / s Internet speed. It is somehow unbelievable. Is it possible to check codecs or somehow test a channel in an asterisk? Thank you - Yaroslav Mazurenko
  • I can also provide a link to the wiki.openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/tp-link/tp-link_tl-wr1043nd_v4 router - Yaroslav Mazurenko
  • What is your call density? how many peers are silver I think your asterisk router server cannot handle the load - Vlad Vetrov

The problem turned out to be banal that in the settings of the dogla ( /etc/asterisk/dongle.conf ) for rxgain and txgain was txgain up too loud, which created the effect of wheeze.
