Spring vs servlets

Before me, the choice of technologies for the Spring web store or Servlets + to all I was assigned to create a hosting for hosting (the cheapest).

Since the hosting will not be "top", I want to choose the most "economic" technology.

And actually the question: Cheap hosting will pull Spring or will it lag?

P.S. I understand that for the most part, this depends on the code being written (there will be relatively little code).

Of course, I don’t know for sure, but it seems to me the cheapest, both in terms of development, and in terms of renting a hosting service will be puffed) And the technology itself doesn’t say anything.
With spring, that servlets - the same performance, because the one and the other - uses zhvm, aplikeyshin server, a container of servlets.

Of course, the performance will be higher, and memory consumption is lower when using pure servlets (if the code is, of course, good to write).
Another question is how precise it is, and whether it is necessary to sacrifice the speed and convenience of developing with the help of Spring for the sake of this gain.
