Tell me, please, how to set up the laptop on Windows 10 so that when you close the lid, it will just lock the system (like Win + L). Hibernation and sleep is not suitable! Thank you in advance!
- oneIf I'm not mistaken, this is configured in the power settings - Nick Proskuryakov

Open Start / Options / System / Power and Hibernate / Advanced Power Options. On the left we see "Actions when closing the lid":
Click the mouse there. Customize what we want, namely - Action is not required. Specify to ask for a password. Everything.
Alternative, faster option:
We press Win + R, enter "control.exe powercfg.cpl ,, 3", we get a window in which we immediately go to the setting "Power Buttons and Cover".
I can not resist the hardcore option :)
In powershell, we execute a script that immediately installs what we need (only locking the system when closing the lid):
$class = ([wmi] '\root\cimv2\power:Win32_PowerSettingDataIndex.InstanceID="Microsoft:PowerSettingDataIndex\\{8c5e7fda-e8bf-4a96-9a85-a6e23a8c635c}\\DC\\{5ca83367-6e45-459f-a27b-476b1d01c936}"') $class.SettingIndexValue = 0 $class.Put() - Do you do everything on powershell? :) - Alexey Kozlov
- one@AlexeyKozlov No :) In this case, it was a small challenge. But, in general, powershell can become a very powerful control system, especially if you build multi-level menus on it that allow you to quickly achieve the desired goal in monitoring / controlling / checking the system. But maybe I'm just an old oldfag who likes the console :) - Viktor Tomilov
