Why, when creating an Image in a scene, his parent Canvas is disproportionately huge, it is more than a game location and even more so an image, an image 100x100 and he 1000x400.

Is it made to fit the screen? Is it possible to resize it somehow or does it not make sense?

Canvas does not belong to a specific Image. This is the canvas on which the interface is located - it can have as many as you like: pictures and buttons, and various switches.

Read the Unity documentation about the component

The answer to your question is described in the documentation. In short - this is due to the rendering mode of this "Canvas". In the Render Mode field set to "Overlay" - i.e. Canvas will stretch to full screen and always be on top of everything else that is drawn on the screen.
