I make a snake game by video lessons, a console snake, there is an idea to insert a picture instead of symbols. Let's say that the walls around the perimeter consist of a repeating picture that lies in the root folder, and the snake body also, instead of symbols would consist of pictures.

Do not do it the way you want.

Usually they make an application with a GUI interface (winforms, wpf) and normal graphics, or output ASCII characters.

For example, you can draw a completely decent rectangle of ordinary characters on the screen: see Box-drawing character

A snake to draw asterisks. Yes, it is not very beautiful and in style resembles a snake on the Nokia 3310.

But if you really want in training purposes to bring yourself a lot of adventure - then here's a link to you as a starting point for learning:

  • Thank you so much for the answers! Another question ... when displaying characters on the screen, that is, in essence, a snake body, there is a flashing underscore in front of the head, how can I remove it? - Dmitry Ivanov
  • @DmitryIvanov: You want to turn the console into a non-console. Just do not do this, master UI programming. It will be useful in the future. - VladD
