Judging by the grammar, the author of the question a few years. Better learn pascal. PHP is nothing more than a well-known word. As a language, it is simply terrible. I recommend to learn Pascal / Delphi - Jembo_by

The person specifically asks for PHP, he is offered to learn something else. This is the same when a person came to buy a certain brand of car at a car dealership, and they say to him: "What the hell is this car for you, buy a moped ??? ???" As for the question, here on the side you can see links to the same question, to which they clearly answered in full.

I do not agree with any of the comments. First you need to be a programmer. Knowledge of the syntax of the language does not say that the person is a programmer. And then, if you understand the basics of programming, as well as Object Oriented Programming, then it does not matter what language I should start with. You also need to understand what goals are facing a person who is just beginning to learn a language. But to declare categorically that PHP is ... I would not.

From my own experience, I started with PHP, now I am learning Java and Objective-C. I can say that the knowledge that I received at the same time, I successfully apply in PHP.

  • Well, in general, it is always difficult to agree that you can put a cross on a professional level :) This is psychology, nothing personal. By sabzh - php maximum gives the concept of "logical algorithms". If you only learn it for a long time, the understanding of how a computer works with data will atrophy. I taught pascal, then pascal + php, then everything else is a little. Then ASM came across to me and for two weeks I was hammered into the wall, but after it everything became much more transparent and clear. And yes, I also thought that the language does not matter. PHP is an expanded template engine. - Sh4dow
